Raucous Chorus is a beginner-friendly singing group and community choir for non-singers in South Lakeland, Cumbria, near Kendal, with no auditions and no pressure. 

WHAT IS RAUCOUS CHORUS?

Raucous Chorus is a friendly, no-audition community choir in South Lakeland, Cumbria, designed especially for beginners and people who think they can't sing.
We're not your average singing group. No auditions. No terrifying warm-ups. No scary conductor pointing out who’s flat. Instead, we're a relaxed, feel-good singing group  welcoming beginners and non-singers who want to try something new.

We’re a bunch of imperfect humans making noise together (sometimes in tune, often not) and having the time of our lives while we’re at it.

​Whether you're completely tone-deaf or secretly decent in the shower, you're welcome here.

Our one-hour morning sessions are all about big tunes, belly laughs, and that unbeatable feeling of singing in a group. No auditions, no ability needed, no sheet music stress—just turn up and join in.

We believe singing should be fun, freeing and a little bit ridiculous, not something reserved for West End wannabes and X Factor veterans.

Raucous Chorus isn’t really about singing - at least, not in the traditional sense. It’s about letting go, laughing loudly, and remembering what it feels like to be part of something gloriously imperfect.

Music is medicine, even if the dosage is slightly off-key.
It lifts your mood, calms your mind, and connects you to a roomful of people who don’t care if you hit the note, only that you showed up to sing it.
